The client, a just-in-time manufacturer of products for the automobile industry, required a large facility that would be integrated with an existing building, to increase production capability and improve the flow, storage and distribution of product. The new addition had to complement the architectural design of the existing building.
This design-build 62,000 sq.ft. addition was a metal clad pre-engineered building. It included a new fire protection system, make-up air and ventilation system, loading docks and ramps, and a two-storey central office core. New mechanical and electrical services were installed to supplement the existing services.
One challenge of this project was the fact that the data on existing services and any modifications made to them over the years were not available, since records had not been updated. Another challenge was that the addition had to be completed without disruption to the on-going manufacturing process.
TCE staff researched and verified all existing systems and resolved all issues. The addition and all its required support systems were successfully installed without any disruption to the client’s manufacturing process. The addition was completed on time and on budget.Download Brochure
